Maxgear - Sponsorships

Maxgear has struck exciting sponsorship deals with a number of cycling teams, riders and race events in the UK, Ireland and continental Europe.  These endorsements will help to promote the brand’s image and products amongst cyclists at all levels, from grass roots to gold medals.

Vision1 Racing Team

Maxgear has signed a sponsorship deal with Vision 1 Racing to become one of the team’s official equipment suppliers for the next two seasons.

Vision 1 Racing was formed by Nicole Cooke who wanted to create a team that would give her the opportunity to continue working with the support staff who helped her in 2008 become Olympic and World Champion.  However, at the same time the plan is to work with the next generation of talented riders to try and build up a strong team and help each rider reach their full potential.

‘I'm really excited about the opportunity to work with Maxgear.  They're extremely forward thinking and are very interested in our input into product development and their range’ commented Team Manager Stefan Wyman on the new partnership.  Ciaran Dunne of Maxgear added that its sponsorship of Vision1 provided an excellent platform for Maxgear to announce its arrival in the fast growing cycle industry.

To help promote the fantastic new products, Maxgear will provide product to all of the riders.  The products being used by Vision 1 Racing includes a revolutionary new range of compression clothing, helmets, sunglasses, luggage, saddles and pumps.   Maxgear views the sponsorship as an excellent opportunity to work with a team that is both ambitious and eager to aid its product development.

Vision1 is a leading European women’s professional team headed up by Nicole Cooke, current Olympic and World road race champion, and a squad of 9 riders including Helen Wyman, Gabby Day and Dani King.

Helen is currently the British Women’s Cyclo-Cross Champion.

Major targets for the team in 2009 include the World Road Race Championships in Switzerland (in which Nicole will be defending her title), the women’s Tour de France and the World Cup road events.

Nicole Cooke finished 4th in the women’s Tour of Flanders on 5 April, a major result for her team in its first year.

The BBC recently carried a story on the creation of Nicole’s Vision1 racing team.  Footage of Nicole wearing our MAX World Cup helmet is included – please see the website link below.
